![]() ![]() For reference the offending device is Pace Pic Router/residential gateway model 5268AC software version 260-217330.ĭeBaas, your advice is very good. Very strange it would affect only gmail on Thunderbird and only the Linux version. No idea why this fixed it or what it was doing wrong. Now all is lightning fast and has been for 12 hrs. After its 30 min reboot the gmail problem went away. Finally braved the dust bunnies and my family's ire for shutting down phone, tv and internet and did a hard reset of the ATT Uverse residential gateway by unplugging it from power for 30 sec. ![]() First checking the settings, then doing a software reset with no effect. After i14's reply I focused on the routers. I had tried the new account and also did a live session with the same result. Anyone else with this issue? Any thoughts. I've searched the forum and Google with no help. ![]() I'm behind both an ATT Uverse modem/router and a home router but don't see how that would be a problem since the windows os inside the pclos os handles the connection fine. My guess is there is some issue with the Linux version of Thunderbird and gmail I have a custom system but the laptop is an Acer AMD 5560G still using kernel 4.7.10. I have Windows 7 in a virtual box for things that demand windows which till now did not include Thunderbird but did install Thunderbird in Windows 7 and gmail works perfectly well in it. Also booted to a live DVD KDE 64 PCLOS 2016.03 and set up my gmail account there with same slow connect. I have a laptop with the same KDE 64 setup that had not been booted for about 3 weeks so fired it up and have the same slow connection from it with gmail but not ATT. I've done all the suggested tweaks such as deleting most of my old messages from all the folders, did not have save in send folder option checked, tried all the suggested server settings, and had made no changes to my system other than the usual updates including updating to kernel 4.8.12. Once connected the up and down loads seem to go just fine but the little wheel will sometimes spin for 5 minutes before a connection is established. This week my connections to IMAP gmail from Thunderbird have become extremely slow. ![]()
